JOB DESCRIPTION:
• The Chemical Engineer will oversee all chemistry for the anodizing process.
• Find/Implement process improvements.
• Diagnose and find solutions for process issues.
• Write line forms & work instructions.
ANODIZING LINE:
• Tank Chemical testing & scheduling of testing,
• Perform titrations and titration maintenance,
• Anodizing documentation
• Quarterly Wastewater testing & reporting, wastewater management
• Chemical purchasing & SDS/TDS logs.
• Hazardous Waste Coordinator Training (as backup) & testing & waste manifests.
• Schedule and perform tank line maintenance & equipment maintenance.
This is a hands-on roll and will be actively engaged in the daily activities of the team. The Anodizing Chemist/Chemical Engineer will be responsible to ensure all rules and schedules are followed properly and production goals are met.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
• Daily morning meeting with SnF Finishing team.
• Communicate with customers about issues and find solutions.
• Hands on assistance with assisting staff with racking & un-racking parts.
• Visually inspects product prior to racking while notifying necessary management of any non-conformances.
• Work with Management to effectively utilize the anodizing capabilities, future & current processes, and maintain and ensure start up and shut down as required.
• Problem solving, assist with examining and inspecting parts to ensure required specifications are met.
• Assigns, instructs, directs, trains, and assists employees to support production operation within the established work week
• Monitors the quality of products being produced and work closely to ensure the acceptable quality of goods.
• Maintains time & attendance of all production staff and ensures staffing is adequate and within established guidelines.
• Ensures safety awareness and adherence to all safety policies & procedures
• Ensures employees are aware of their performance, documents incidents related to performance and addresses concerns based on the current Employee Handbook.
• Receive incoming OEM work, review customer requirements, and create travelers.
• QuickBooks: Enter Sales Orders, print Packing Slips, email Invoices.
• Other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL/MENTAL/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Standing for extended periods of time in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
• Use of safety equipment when necessary (goggles, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, etc.).
• Often exposed to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles.
• Noise level is usually moderate.
• Temperatures in the work environment can fluctuate with outside weather conditions.
